I believe that Local Government has an incredibly important place within local communities. It not only delivers on community aspirations but is able to influence the now and the future. My strength and passion is in the big picture. I clearly understand the role of governance and naturally operate at a strategic level. I am genuinely focused on the well-being of our people and our place and am thus a strong advocate for clear vision, long term thinking and good, prudent decision making that will see us flourishing, in unity and respect. One of my aims is to 'bed in' a new era in local government i.e. support council to truly serve our communities - with passion and integrity. I am a 'change agent' and carry sound wisdom, a wide range of skills and a strong knowledge base - about the area, about communities and about strategic approaches. |
With almost six years experience as deputy mayor and a previous five years working within local government, I know how it works. I know its challenges and I know its potential. I am one of the most experienced governance individuals standing for mayor, renowned as a strategic thinker, with a strong background in community development. I hold a clear vision and believe my inclusive leadership style, knowledge and courageous approach will make a genuine difference for you on the ground. I am daring greatly, standing here putting a stake in the ground for our future. I am asking you to stand with me.
